Second Sunday of Easter
Order of Worship
Download today's Bulletin PDF for the entire order of worship and more.
Let us pray for the whole people of God in Christ Jesus, and for all people according to their needs.
Give us faithful repentance, Lord, so that we may enjoy your forgiveness. Inspire us to obey you, even if it so often means that we end up confessing our inability sin and sin. Give us the courage to obey you instead of people—especially when those people are ourselves. We ask this so that you would be lifted up among us through teaching and preaching Christ Jesus and so that many would be drawn to you here at St. Paul’s and without the viewing of our livestream and video. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.
We join with all creation in praising you, Lord God. We praise you because you are God but also because you have raised up the almighty King, the Lord Jesus Christ. We ask your blessings upon Angela and David Breidenbach, and upon Mark and Julia Wilhelm, and all those involved in the mission of Spiritual Orphans Network. Bring good fruit from their kingdom labors, that your church in eastern Europe is renewed and brings glory to your holy name. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Blessed are you, Father, who has caused us to be born anew to a living hope through the resurrection of your Son Jesus Christ from the dead. Though faith in him, you have given us an inheritance in your eternal kingdom. Though your people suffer trials of varying types, they rejoice in the hope of glory with you. Renew that hope in all those suffering and mourning among us, especially to these whom we name before you now… Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.
You stand among us, Lord, Open the ears of our hearts that we may hear that word from you: “Peace be with you.” Give us gospel grace to believe what we have not seen but which others have heard and recorded in holy Scripture. Help us to place our finger in the pages of the Book, and see the scars of the nails in your hands. Extend your grace that we may put out our hand and hold the Book, and so, behold your torn but blessed body. Help us to take hold of these things that are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing, we may have life in his name. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Into your hands, O Lord, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your mercy — through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
Visitor Info
Though we do livestream our services here, on YouTube, and Facebook, we invite you to join us for an in-person service if you live in the area or are passing though. St. Paul's features traditional worship and a message grounded in the Scriptures and guided by the Lutheran Confessions — all in a friendly, multigenerational environment. Holy Communion is celebrated each Sunday.
Please notice that we welcome and encourage children to worship with us. Just before the sermon, Pastor Ryman has a chat with the children. You're going to love this part of the service.
