Let us pray for the whole people of God in Christ Jesus, and for all people according to their needs.
We thank you, Lord, for giving us your Word. You have blessed us with various translations and helps: books and videos, commentaries and sermons, Bible studies, retreats, and conferences. You have given your Word to us in ways unimaginable I the times of the apostles, the reformers, and even at the times of most of most of our births. Yet we confess to you, with so much available, we have partaken of little. Make this a golden year of your Word at St. Paul’s because we have come to preaching and study, because we have read your Word and prayed it, because we have listened to it and lived it for your glory. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
O Lord, you know us through and through. We cannot flee from you, Holy Spirit. So, lead us in your will and strengthen us to do your work. Give courage to those who are called to the ministry. Bless our Sunday School teachers and choirs and leaders with patience and deepened desire to be led by you while they lead others. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Father, we praise you for the blessing of your Christ. You have bought us with a price: your only Son. Give us hope in our redemption, knowing that it is based on the price of your love instead of our religious devotion and piety. When we are grieving and despairing, lift us up by your grace — especially those among us who are ill and struggling in any way. May your Spirit remind them of the price of your love, and may they give you praise even as you bless them with renewed trust in you alone. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Give us, Jesus, feet that follow you. Give us mouths that confess you as the Son of God. Give us increasing faith, not on proofs or feelings, but on your Word. Help us to follow you until that day when we join the angels of heaven and ascend into your glory. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.
Into your hands, O Lord, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your mercy — through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
Visitor Info
Though we livestream our services, we invite you to join us for an in-person service if you live in the area or are passing though. St. Paul's features traditional worship and a message grounded in the Scriptures and guided by the Lutheran Confessions — all in a friendly, multigenerational environment. Holy Communion is celebrated each Sunday.
We welcome and encourage children to worship with us. Just before the sermon, our children take up a spare change offering for mission. Then they join Pastor Ryman on the chancel steps for a chat about today's Scripture. We think you will love this part of the service.
